BGSU Club Softball wrapped up its home series against GVSU Club Softball on Sunday, March 29 at Bowling Green High School, finishing the day 1-2 in a competitive three-game set.
The Falcons struggled to generate offense in the opening game, falling 8-0 as GVSU controlled the pace early. Despite hits from Lauren Shaver, Emma Jacobs, Taryn Tyler, and Kailee Pasenow, BGSU couldn't string together enough offense to respond.
BGSU bounced back in game two with an impressive 11-7 comeback victory. After trailing 5-0 early, the Falcons turned the game around behind a standout performance from Lauren Shaver, who drove in four runs, including a three-run home run in the third inning. The momentum continued in the fourth, when BGSU exploded for eight runs to take control. The team totaled 13 hits in the win, with multiple players contributing at the plate.
In the final game, BGSU nearly completed another comeback but came up just short in a 5-3 loss. Trailing by five runs late, the Falcons fought back with timely hitting but couldn't fully close the gap. Several players contributed offensively, while the pitching staff kept the game within reach.
Overall, BGSU showed resilience throughout the series, highlighted by a strong comeback win and a near rally in the finale.
The Falcons will look to build on that momentum as they hit the road for their next games at Central Michigan on April 12.
