Melissa currently works as an Athletic Trainer with Wood County Hospital, supporting BGSU Club Sports, Spirit, and Marching Band athletes.

Melissa was born and raised in Oceanside, CA. She grew up doing gymnastics, cheerleading, and dance. Melissa graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She was also was a member of the SDSU Club Gymnastics team and worked as a gymnastics coach throughout undergrad. She then moved to Pennsylvania and earned her Master’s degree in Athletic Training (Advanced Clinical Practice emphasis) from East Stroudsburg University. While in graduate school, she worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the ESU Warriors Women’s Volleyball and Acrobatics & Tumbling teams.

Since college, Melissa has worked in a variety of settings as an athletic trainer. She most recently was the head athletic trainer for a high school in San Diego, CA. She also has worked 7 summers at Camp Woodward, an action sports summer camp, as well as the head athletic trainer for the Ogden Raptors Professional Baseball team in Ogden, UT.
