BGSU Men's Lacrosse comes into the spring season with their highest preseason ranking ever, coming in at #10 in NCLL D-II. With a wave of fresh blood on the team, many young athletes and returning stars, Men's Lacrosse looks to capture the gold, as they hope to emerge victorious from the NCLL Midwest Division Championship and punch their ticket to Nationals.
We were able to speak with some members of the team, including some their valuable senior leaders. With a persepctive on their progress and their entire time with the team, Vice President Nate Silsby gave an idea on what he has cherished most from his time at BGSU:
"I would say spending time with the guys off the field. Having a great bond on and off the field is super important and I feel that our team has both."
Coach
Stu Smith was able to give us an insight on their focus to compete this year:
"We are really excited to get the spring games going with some tougher competition right out of the gate with UC and OSU. Facing tough opponents will help us see how we handle adversity and what we need to continue to work on as we head into our league games."
Men's Lacrosse has a vibrant heart of the team, with returning members like
Jackson Keen,
Matt Jones,
Nathan Silsby,
Caden Fatzinger,
Will Shirey, and many more.
Among them is a strong bunch of student athletes, who look to uphold the standard they have come to set at BGSU, with visions of hardware in their very near future. With the world in front of them, they look to capture said hardware with grit, determination and hard work. Be sure to follow along throughout this season, as they look to run the table and outperform their opponents every time they step onto the field.
