BGSU Club Softball officially kicked off its 2025-26 season during the first week of September. After a highly competitive tryout, the team set the tone for an exciting and ambitious season. Club Softball President Rachel Ebert reflected on the intensity of tryouts, stating, "tryouts were very competitive and the executive board had to make some very difficult decisions in order to form the best team possible. We had a lot of very good talent show up which made our decisions even harder. Overall, I am confident in the choices we made and am very excited for the season."

This year's roster is comprised of a mix of 15 returning players and 10 new additions rounding out a team of 25 players.  The mix of experience and fresh skills sets up the team for growth, camaraderie, good competition, and great success. 

To prepare for their very competitive season, club softball has been practicing 2-3 times a week, participating in competitive intra-squad scrimmages, and several team bonding events to build bonds both on and off the field. Some things that the team is excited for in the upcoming season are their overnight stays for games, deepening friendships, continuing to play and build their skills in softball, and of course winning some games! Freshman newcomer Angelina Pietri shared her enthusiasm, "I'm looking forward to getting closer with the girls and having a overall great season with the great energy we are bringing." 

Club softball opens their season by heading to Elkhart, Indiana to play in the NCSA Indy Invitational tournament. The tournament includes pool play against Loyola Chicago, University of Illinois, and Michigan State, with bracket play to follow. This tournament marks the teams first overnight travel experience of the season and the first tournament they have participated in as a team in several years.
