The BGSU Club Golf team continued its stellar season with a second-place finish at Fyre Lake Golf Club this past weekend, punching their ticket to the NCCGA National Championship in Orlando later this month.

Competing against top club teams from across the region, the Falcons posted a two-day team total of +48, finishing just one shot behind Indiana University. While the narrow margin kept the team from taking the top spot, their performance secured one of the top three qualifying positions — earning them a coveted bid to Nationals at Mission Resort & Club on April 26–27.

Fyre Lake Highlights:

• Alec Matej led the way for the Falcons, firing rounds of 70-75 to finish at +5, earning an impressive individual 2nd place finish.
• Ryan Klausing was close behind, carding 72-74 for a +6 total and 4th place individually.
• Rounding out the team scores were Isaac Gallmeier (+12), Keaton Schnipke (+13), Maxwell Weaver (+14), Jack Gregory (+16), Joseph Meyer (+17), and Trevor Campbell (+36) — a strong showing across the board.

Next Stop: Orlando

With momentum and experience on their side, the Falcons are gearing up for the NCCGA National Championship at Mission Resort & Club in Orlando, Florida on April 26–27.

The team is no stranger to high-level competition, having competed at Pinehurst last semester — and this group is ready for another shot at national glory.
