With BGSU Club Sports, we like to highlight the club sport athletes who stand out and whose work stands out to their peers. For our most recent nomination, Cody Schneider has been chosen to be an Athlete Feature. 

Nominated by William Riehle, Cody Schneider has been an important piece of the puzzle for BGSU Club Golf. William had this to say about Cody Schneider, 

    "Cody was recently promoted to the position of Director of Recruitment within the Club Golf Team. He has been instrumental in the success of the Club Team this past fall as they qualified for the National Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina. His on the course play has anchored the team in key tournaments while his off the course leadership has rallied the team towards the common goal of qualifying for an competing in the National Championship this Spring." 

Attending Perrysburg High School, Cody shared that he felt even though Hockey was his main sport, he played golf for two years in high school, as a junior and senior. Having played golf for 6 years now, Cody truly fell in love with the sport "after playing all summer with my friends and rapidly improving." 

With now being on the Club Golf team for two semesters, Cody Schneider was recently named to the executive board as their Director of Recruitment. With being the first to contact and be the face of the Club Golf team to those looking to know more about BGSU Club Golf, the tasks performed by Cody are vital to their success. 

    "My favorite part about the team is competing, whether that be in regional tournaments or just in casual rounds with my teammates, there is always competition.  Being a part of the team has not only helped me improve my game but also furthered my career and love for golf as I am a Level One Associate in the PGA's Professional Golf Management program, interning at Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg." 

Cody looks to receive a business marketing major at BGSU and graduate on time.
