The Club Golf team traveled to Jasper, Indiana, this past weekend for their first tournament of the spring season at Sultan's Run Golf Club. Despite windy conditions in round one, the Falcons delivered a strong performance. Alec Matej, Trevor Campbell, and Jackson Gregory each shot four-over-par 76's, helping the team build a significant lead. Maxwell Weaver also had a solid round with a five-over-par 77, while Cody Schneider and Ryan Klausing posted seven-over-par 79's. Isaac Gallmeier (82) and Luke Larreategui (83) were also in the top 15 after the first round.
After round one, the Falcons led the field by 29 strokes, with teams from Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, and Wisconsin-Oshkosh trailing. Unfortunately, severe weather canceled the second round, and the results were based on round one. The Falcons celebrated their first-ever team victory, with Jack Gregory taking home individual medalist honors in a scorecard playoff.
Next up, the Falcons head to Sherrard, Illinois, this weekend for the NCCGA's Zone 3 Qualifier at Fyre Lake Golf Club, where a top 3 finish could secure their spot in the National Championship.
