The BGSU Club baseball team traveled east on November 2 to play Ball State in a non- conference doubleheader. Despite outhitting Ball State in game 1, the Falcons fell 7-3. BG
got down early and could not recover. Sophomore Austin Sertell hit his first home run of the season; a mammoth solo shot in the 4th inning. Freshman Joe Levis added 3 hits and 1 RBI. Senior Mason Shultz also added a multi-hit effort.
Junior Jacob Rumberger started in game 2 going 5 strong innings and striking out 5. Mistakes defensively were too much, and the Falcons dropped the doubleheader, 3-1. Senior Caden Fickes reached base in 3 of his 4 plate appearances.
Overall, the Falcons finished the fall going 2-8 and 2-4 in the conference play. In the offseason, they will look to improve their strike throwing and offensive run production. BG opens in the spring at Panama City Beach on March 2.
