BGSU Women’s Hockey Sweeps Mercyhurst University

Back-to-Back Sweeps Mark Key Moment in the Season

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green Women's Hockey team (4-4 Overall) are back at home this weekend after sweeping Mercyhurst University in their last series. They will play Aurora University (4-6-1 Overall) this Saturday, November 1st, and Sunday, November 2nd. The games will be played at the Slater Family Ice Arena in Bowling Green, OH.

Last Time on the Ice

The Falcons swept Mercyhurst University at Mercyhurst Ice Center this past weekend. The Falcons won (1-0) and (4-1). With this sweep, Bowling Green was able to secure its second series sweep of the 2025-2026 season and are continuing to build momentum as they are getting deeper into their schedule. A strong performance from the Falcon goalie Logan Card and a strong offensive effort proved to be the difference as the Falcons were able to control both games from start to finish.

Falcon's sophomore Shannon O'Connor reflected on the weekend series saying "This year, we've looked and felt more like a team. But Against Mercyhurst, we proved we are a team". Senior goalie Logan Card echoed that confidence. "I'm very proud of how we've done this season so far. Especially the games last weekend, we were able to secure the sweep, and I was able to get my first shutout of the season. I'm very excited to see how we will keep improving and how far we've come".
