Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green Women's Hockey team (13-6-2 Overall) had an away event in Michigan this past weekend, traveling to the Traverse City Mini Tournament. They will play against Loyola University of Chicago this weekend, on Friday, Jan. 30th at 9:00pm and Saturday, Jan. 31st at 12:15pm. The games will be played at Ottawa Park in Toledo, OH.
Last Time on the Ice
The Falcons were able to secure one of the two games they played this past weekend. On Friday night, the Falcons lost a close one to Central Michigan, 1-2. On Saturday they rallied back, beating Central Michigan in a overtime battle, 3-2.

After talking with Coach Steve Dibble on the impact of their recent success and the future of the program, he was able to share this quote with me:
"
What does beating a program like Central Michigan do not only for your immediate success, but for the future of your program?"
"Central Michigan has represented our region at nationals in each of the past 2 seasons and are currently ranked in position to do so again. Immediately, we have been turning heads around the league all season up to this point, and this put us in the conversation for a truly competitive team in our region. For the future, we are having a lot of returning players stepping up and seeing personal and team success. This is a great stepping stone for the next couple of years to come."
Emmalynn Wanyek, Senior Captain, was also able to provide some insight into their steady progress in the season:
"
With all of the success on the year, what is the biggest factor in how you have shaped this team in a winning program?"
"I'd say the biggest factor has been our culture. This group has really bought into the program and understands what we're trying to accomplish, but beyond that, they genuinely enjoy being around one another. The chemistry is strong, the team gets along well, and there's a real sense of friendship and trust, which has made a huge difference in our success."
When asked how fans can support the program or follow along, he also answered with this:
"We have a YouTube channel that, if we have someone to take video of our games, we live stream all of our home and road games. We try and stay as active as possible on our social media accounts, so that people can keep up with our team's activities. Getting eyes on the team and showing is always greatly appreciated. Also, we have One Day coming up, the team has done a great job updating team uniform and making the team look more like a team. More help with that is always appreciated and will go towards the future of the team. Currently, the team is looking for ways to increase team bonding opportunities on road trips. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated."
