Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green Women's Hockey team (2-4 Overall) are on the road again this weekend after sweeping Pennsylvania University in their last series. They will play at Mercyhurst University (0-1 Overall) this Saturday, October 25th, and Sunday, October 26th. The games will be played at Mercyhurst Ice Center in Erie, PA.
"I thought we showed what we are capable of this past weekend. After a rough first four games, I feel like our team really needed this trip. It was a great team experience, and I believe we all got closer to each other during this trip. We are all confident that we can take this momentum to this upcoming weekend again Mercyhurst," said Senior Captain Emma Wanyek. Junior Captain Addie Erdman stated "The wins against Penn helped boost our confidence and allowed us to figure out what we need to do to score goals this season. With these games past us, we can look to the future of our season and focus on the basics of what wins us games."
Last Time on the Ice
The Falcons swept Pennsylvania University at Penn Ice Rink this past weekend. The Falcons won (5-2) and (8-3). During the first game, the Falcons looked good on offense, and a strong Falcon defense held Penn to only 2 points. The strong Falcon offense stayed persistent in the second game of the series where the Falcons won (8-3). Overall, it was a strong offensive match from the Falcons.

About Mercyhurst University
Last year, Mercyhurst went (16-9) overall. They started with two early season wins (7-2) against SUNY Brockport, and (3-2) against the Armstrong Arrows. In the post season, Mercyhurst won both of their games in the College Hockey East playoffs, beating West Virginia University (6-2) and Niagara University (7-1). However, they lost all three of their games in the ACHA Women's Division 2 National Championship. The lost to Liberty University (3-7), University of Wisconsin (0-4), and Villanova University (2-11).
This season, Mercyhurst University has started their season off being (0-1). Their season began with a loss to the Armstrong Arrows where they got beat (0-1). Their second and third games of the season will be against Bowling Green State University.
