Following a weekend off, the Falcons returned to action for their only home matchup of the fall ball season. Facing off against their first in-conference opponent, it was vital that Bowling Green took care of business against Akron University. In the first quarter, the Midwest programs battled and after several long possessions against stellar goaltenders on both ends of the field, the Falcons held a small 2-1 lead against the Zips.
By the time the men in orange took the field for the second quarter, there was a clear change in effort. Bowling Green put 10 shots on goal in only fifteen minutes, converting on 6 of them to build a lofty lead of 8-1 against the Zips.
After the halftime break, there was no looking back for the Falcons. Led by an excellent faceoff unit earning extra possessions, the offense took care of business and converted 5 more goals, while letting Bowling Green show excellent roster depth. The final score favored the team in orange 13-3, giving a proper sendoff to Senior
Tyler Doe, who completed a hat trick in his final home effort for Bowling Green State University.
Senior Midfielder
Tyler Doe had this to say about protecting his home field, "It was a great way to finish my career at home as I graduate at the end of this semester. All the boys were fired up and the energy was high. We came out hot and kept the wheel turning the rest of the game to come out with a big win. I am grateful for having great teammates coming in over the years, and coach Stu Smith coming in my junior year has also led to our recent success. These past 4.5 years have made my college experience great. The program is only moving up from here, and I'm excited to see how they do in the spring and playoffs."
