Women's Soccer Open Home Season with New Turf, First Win

The Women's Club Soccer team kicked off their season with back-to-back road games against Michigan State and Notre Dame, two strong opponents. While the Falcons showed flashes of breakthrough play, the results didn't quite fall their way. Playing immediately after arriving on both campuses brought its own challenges, but it also gave the team a valuable early-season test.

With only two structured practices together before opening weekend, the group is proud of the effort and resilience each player showed on the field. Building on that foundation, the Falcons returned home this past weekend to debut their matches on BGSU's new turf field—just two weeks after its dedication.

On that fresh surface, BGSU defeated Hillsdale 4–0, earning their first win of the season in dominant fashion. Later that weekend, they faced a tough University of Michigan squad and fell 0–2.

This year's roster features a strong mix of experience and new energy, with 15 returning players and 10 new additions. Together, they are focused on improving defensive execution, taking advantage of transition play, and continuing to grow a positive and connected team culture.
