Women's Club Soccer recently wrapped their season, with a lot to say about their season went. Finishing at 3-4-2, Women's Club Soccer fought with resilience. Having battled big teams from larger universities in the region, like Michigan State, Michigan, and Notre Dame, to taking down local rival Toledo, Women's Soccer shared some of the best personal experiences they had from the season, listed below.
· Our overnight trip to Western Michigan where the team was able to have team dinner, play games, and have a great start to our fall break!
· Beating Toledo during the start of family weekend. The sideline was completely full of supporters which has not happened yet this season. It was a lot of fun to play in front of a big crowd and they kept the energy high the entire game.
· Our senior center back, Kayla Kelly, scored a goal against Toledo. Before this game, she has only scored one other time and it was against Toledo her freshman year.
· Junior, Hayley Beiser, scored 2 goals off of corner kicks. She was the player taking the corner kick and it went directly into the goal!
· Traveling to and playing at Notre Dame for this first time as a team and getting the opportunity to walk the campus
Mallori Pollock was also able to give a quote for what this season meant to their program:
"Overall, this season is one to remember because we continue to grow as a team and play to everyone's strengths. Although we did not make it to the conference tournament, we are grateful for the opportunity to play the sport we love at a very competitive level. We want to thank all our families, friends, and other supporters for all the encouragement and support you have shown this season and continue to show. We are excited to get back on the field this spring with our open fields!"
