This past weekend the Women's Lacrosse team traveled south to close out their regular season with a doubleheader, kicking off the weekend with familiar WCLO opponent Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The Falcons came out firing on all cylinders scrapping for a lead, but the new look Cougars managed to outpace Bowling Green, protecting a 6-3 lead going into halftime.
The Falcons quickly regrouped and prepared to mount a second half comeback against a smothering Mount Vernon defense, but ultimately couldn't pull off the upset, as the final score favored the Cougars 15-7.
Freshman attack Lydia Planicka had this to say about their opening game, "I don't think anyone was too happy with the final score, but the effort and perseverance we played with that allowed us to compete for the entirety of the game is definitely something we can be proud of. All we can do now is look forward to the next game and be ready to compete just the same for another four quarters"
Scoring Contributions were made by: Ellie Fleisher (3 Goals, 1 Assist), Lily Jones (1 Goal, 2 Assists), Gabby Villagomez (2 Goals), Peyton Wozniak (1 Goal), Alexandria Knauff (1 Assist)
Next Up: The Falcons turn around immediately to play Kent State University in the back half of their doubleheader.
