Women's Lacrosse Hosts Mount Vernon Nazarene and Malone

The BGSU Falcons ended their 2024 fall ball season with a tough doubleheader on their home field. Taking on frequent opponent Mount Vernon Nazarene University and NCAA D2 Malone University, this back-to-back series would require some persistence.

Our Falcons were off to a hot start at the beginning of their contest with Mount Vernon. The two WCLO teams traded blows for much of the first half trying to secure a lead, with sophomore Amelia Harrigan and senior Lily Jones leading the charge on the draw.

With the help of their extra possessions, Bowling Green found themselves holding a small lead over the Cougars.

Unfortunately for the ladies in orange, Mount Vernon entered the second half with a taste for revenge. With a balanced offense and a high-powered midfield, the Cougars snatched this contest right from the Falcon's talons with a final score 5-8.

Directly following their first scrimmage, the Falcons were back on the turf against the daunting NCAA D2 Malone University. Bowling Green faced the Pioneers last fall and were ready to battle the revamped Pioneers till the end.

While the Falcons came out swinging for 4 straight quarters, they couldn't outlast the exhaustion of back-to-back matches on their own field. Finishing with a score of 4-11, the Falcons left the weekend 0-2 and look forward to retooling the program for a strong spring showing.
