BGSU Women's Lacrosse Recaps Michigan State Tournament Weekend

Read about how Women's Lacrosse competed at Michigan State

Over the course of a competitive weekend and the final games of the regular season, the BGSU Falcons finished with a solid 2-2 record and earned a national ranking in the WCLO Top 20 after demonstrating both resiliency and growth against some of the best programs in the nation.

The weekend opened on March 28th with a dominant performance against Saginaw Valley, where the team controlled the game from start to finish, securing a decisive 20–1 victory. The offensive teamwork was on full display, setting the tone early for the tournament. However, the second game of the day proved to be a tougher matchup against Grand Valley. Despite a hard-fought effort, the team fell 3–11 to a highly ranked opponent, exposing areas to improve while still competing at a high level.

On March 29th, the team returned to the field with determination. In a matchup against Purdue, they showed significant progress from their previous meeting in the fall, where they had fallen 1–11. This time, the game was much more competitive, with the team narrowing the gap and ultimately losing 5–9. The improvement was clear, reflecting both growth and increased competitiveness against an opponent.

The weekend concluded on a high note with a strong 8–3 victory over Michigan State on their home turf. The win highlighted the team's ability to bounce back and finish strong, showcasing discipline on both sides of the field and resilience after two tough losses.

Following the weekend's performances against ranked competition, the team was ranked 20th in the WCLO Week 6 Top 20. Grand Valley secured the number 8 spot, while Purdue landed at number 14, further emphasizing the level of competition faced. Overall, the 2–2 record reflects a weekend of growth, resilience, and momentum as the team continues to push forward into the playoffs.
