A Farewell to the 2024-25 Club Gymnastics Season

The club gymnastics 2024-2025 season has officially come to a close. The Falcons competed in a total of five meets between February and early April, where they saw major improvements from each athlete.

Club gymnastics provides a space for gymnasts to come and continue doing the sport they love, and due to its no-cut policy, it allows people who have never done gymnastics to compete. Freshman Sarah Cosgrove came from a dance background and decided to give gymnastics a try.

"I wanted to connect with people and since I previously did dance, I wanted to keep my body moving," Cosgrove said. "Learning all the events was so much fun, especially when I had amazing people to help teach me and laugh with me."

At the end of the season, the team celebrated two seniors, Nicola Sellis and Emily Meyer, who served as President and Vice President for the club. Sellis competed platinum beam and floor this year while Meyer competed in the platinum all around. Sellis received her season high score on floor where she received a 9.825. Meyer also received her season high score on the floor when she received a 9.4. The team is grateful for both of these seniors leadership, guidance, and support both in and outside of the gym.

"Some advice I would give my girls is to enjoy it," Sellis said. "We tend to take for granted the amazing skills we can do, but before you know it you wont have the chance to do it anymore so cherish the time you have left in the sport."
