The BGSU Club Swim team is making waves to start the 2025–26 season, with strong performances already at two early meets — Purdue University on September 20 and Michigan State University on October 4. Five Falcons have already qualified for nationals, including Evan Bushong, Kendall Freeworth, and Dane Fazio at Purdue, followed by Arleigh Amspoker and Andrew Jipping at Michigan State.
Head coach Nicole Kosakowski says the team is off to one of its most exciting starts yet, with just over 50 dedicated and disciplined swimmers — 26 returners and a large group of new faces. "We have a great crew of swimmers this year," Kosakowski said. "I'm truly excited to see the blend of returning swimmers training the new swimmers. We have a great 'team' atmosphere for what's typically an individual sport."
The Falcons took 27 swimmers to Michigan State and are preparing to send their largest travel group ever — 40 athletes — to the upcoming Regional Championships at Ohio State University in early November.
Kosakowski credited the team's success to strong leadership and unwavering support from her coaching staff, Ryan Hartson and Victoria Oberg, as well as the Club Sports administration. "We are successful because we're always seeking new opportunities and have no fear, thanks to the support of the university, friends, and families," she said.
With early success and growing momentum, the Falcons are setting the tone for a standout season both in and out of the pool.
