Bowling Green Women's Lacrosse hosted Kent State University in their first matchup of the 2024 Spring Season. Facing an in-state WCLO rival, a little bit of snow wasn't going to slow down the Falcons.
The women in orange battled through the snow in the first two quarters, but the Golden Flashes slowly began to build a sizeable lead of 2-6 going into halftime. The Falcons looked to rally coming out of the break, but the deep Kent State roster allowed them to out pace Bowling Green, finishing comfortably with a final score of 3-14 to close the day.
The Falcons are now looking forward as they prepare to travel to Upland, Indiana for their next spring bout against familiar foe Taylor University.
Junior attack Alexandria Knauff had this to say about their season opener, "I believe the team did well for our first game of the Spring season against Kent even though we fell short of a win. There is still a lot more we are looking to work on but as a team I am proud of the effort and drive we presented. We are excited and look forward to the rest of the games this season and are eager to grow as a team together and work towards the success we are all striving for".
Scoring contributions were made by: Gabby Villagomez (2 Goals), Lydia Planicka (1 Goal)
Next Up: The Falcons head West for their first road game of the season against Taylor University as they look to even up their spring record.
