Women's ice Hockey Gets Their First Program Victory Over Adrian College

On November 10th, the BGSU Women's Ice Hockey traveled to Adrian College to attain their first program victory vs. Adrian College. Needing a goal after going into OT, Emma Wanyek came out with the game clinching play. Emma Wanyek has 7 goals in 9 games, showing strong signs of performance for the Women's Ice Hockey program as they progress through the season. Also, Goalie Logan Card had 35 saves, helping to prevent the Adrian Bulldogs from scoring.

When asked about the importance of the win, Goalie Logan Card had this to say, "Adrian has been one of our longer rivals and our first win against them means we are growing and getting better not only as a team but as a franchise. Our team has focused on offense plays and I think this game highlights how far we have come and how much work we have put in. We'd love to have fans come out for our home games this weekend! Two games against PITT should be a fun game to play and watch!"

"This season has been a journey of growth and perseverance. While we faced some early challenges, our team has shown remarkable resilience and determination. Our shared passion for hockey has united us, bringing a positive energy to every practice and game. We've established strong team routines and continue to develop both individual skills and team strategies. As we look toward our senior players' graduation, we're proud of the foundation we've built - focusing on player development, financial sustainability, and most importantly, creating an inclusive environment where every player feels supported both on the ice and in their academic pursuits.?Our team has become more than just a hockey program - we're a community where players can pursue their love of the game while achieving their educational goals at BGSU." Senior Forward Naomi Caparelli states.

With this impressive victory under their belt, the BGSU Women's Ice Hockey team will look to continue building momentum.

Their next match-ups before Thanksgiving break includes hosting two games vs. Pittsburgh at the Slater Family Ice Arena on November 15th and 16th, as well as an away series, traveling to Aurora University on November 22nd at 9:05 pm and November 23rd at 6:50 pm.
