BGSU Quadball Looks Forward to Spring Semester!

Over the summer, the real-life sport of Quidditch has changed its' name to Quadball. While the name has changed, the sport is just as fun! Quadball is a mixed gender full contact sport with elements taken from rugby, dodgeball, wrestling and other sports. The team spends the fall semester traveling to different universities to compete in official USQ (United States Quadball) events to increase their overall team ranking.

Recently, BGSU Quadball traveled to South Bend, Indiana to compete in the USQ Great Lakes Regional Championship on October 28 & 29. After two days of facing challenging opponents, the team went 1-4 and placed 5th in a pool of 6 teams. With regionals in the books, the Quadball team looks to spring semester for more exciting events!

Saturday, March 11 the BGSU Quadball team will be hosting a home tournament at the Perry Field House in the Jack Gregory Turf Room. The event will be from 8 AM – 4 PM and open to the public. Watch as your falcons take on multiple Quadball teams from the surrounding great lakes region!

The weekend of April 14, the Quadball team will be traveling to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania to compete in the National US Quadball Cup. US Quadball Cup is the pinnacle of the competitive season and the largest quadball event in the world.

Quadball is a sport that requires no prior athletic experience of any kind. The BGSU Quadball team is always looking for new recruits to join and participate in this unique experience. If you or anyone you know is interested in joining Quadball or would just like to learn more about the sport, please contact the current BGSU Quadball captain, Dominik Twarowski @dtwarow@bgsu.edu.
