Club Bowling returned from their first tournament of the semester on Saturday, January 16, 2021. The team went to Columbus, OH to participate in the 10th Annual Buckeye Baker Classic. Other teams included Kent State - Tuscarawas, Lincoln Memorial University, Lourdes University, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Notre Dame College, Northern Kentucky University, Pikeville University, Rio Grande University, and Walsh University. BGSU's Men, Women, and Men's Junior Varsity teams competed. Men's Varsity placed 3rd overall with a total of 4718. Women's Varsity had a total of 3610 points and placed 6th overall. Men's JV placed 5th overall with 3896 total points.  
 
In a typical season, the team starts in September and ends in April, but it's been different due to COVID-19. The tournament was also different because of the pandemic. Men's and Women's teams are usually separated in their own blocked area. However, because of COVID-19 each school's Men and Women's teams stayed beside each other to prevent further cross contamination with other schools. The tournament was also shorter in regard of games that were normally match play following 25 baker games. However, match play was canceled so the teams only played 25 baker games.  
 
Britni Hosterman from the team says "On a good note it was nice to back to competing as a team. It was also different because spectators were not allowed at the tournament. But the tournament went well for our first tournament of the season." 
 
Club Bowling's next goal is to compete in the national championships at the end of the season. "We are hoping we get that opportunity and experience still this year. However, right now all we can do is keep practicing and working on improving skills, and hope that the next tournament does not get canceled" says Britni.
