To start off the 2024-2025 collegiate bowling season, the Bowling Green State University Falcon Bowling Team bowled Concordia University's Dirty Bird Classic and had a hot start.
On the men's side, the team was led by Juniors Colin Hunter and Austin Retan who placed 4th and 6th respectively, scoring 645 and 622. Both averaged well over the field average of 502 for the three games. They led the team to qualify 6th, then fought through the ranks in bracket-style Matchplay, beating some of the best teams in the nation, to finish the tournament in 2nd place.
On the women's side, the team finished the day in 11th place, led by Freshman Abagale Johnson, who shot 532 and finished the day placing 9th overall in a tough women's field.
The Falcons will now have a month-long break to prepare for the next tournament where they will begin their conference season. We look forward to how the team will progress throughout the rest of the year. Go Falcons!
