Ranger Club is the premier leadership and tactical organization of Bowling Green State University and it is open to all university students. In Ranger Club, meetings are held periodically to teach students how to become more proficient and tactical leaders. We discuss topics such as teambuilding, communication, knot tying, close quarter combat, weapon safety, leadership skills and many other useful topics. In addition to classroom meetings, we engage in fun activities such as paintball outings, University sponsored 5Ks and other engaging activities.
While Ranger Club concentrates on mental learning and growth, the Ranger Club competitions take it a step further. Students will take the information taught in Ranger Club and add physical training, focusing on holistic physical health. Overall, the Ranger Club provides students from all types of backgrounds with extensive leadership training that will continually benefit them in all aspects of their future careers.
Ranger Club members can expect to participate in physical activities ranging from long-distance runs to obstacle training to weightlifting. The events that Ranger Club will participate in include activities such as Spartan Races, Tough Mudder Competitions, shooting competitions, and 5k runs. The potential to take part in races such as half-marathons or even full marathons may also exist, should enough club members' express interest.Â
The idea of Ranger Club is to provide a holistically fit group of individuals. We want to set a competitive tone while supporting a teamwork mentality. The beauty of the events that Ranger Club does is that each competition is individualized, but in the end it will matter how the team performs. Â
