I recently caught up with Men's Club Soccer President, Jonathan Sayer, who gave me this insight into how their season went:
"We are incredibly proud of the season we had this year. We finished with a record of 7-3, tying our best ever record and getting us ranked 14th in our region of 60 teams.
Unfortunately, we still just missed out on the regional tournament, even though we fell into the top sixteen teams in the region, a stipulation favored a team ranked below us to get into the tournament. This aside, we there were plenty of things to be proud of and build off this season.
- We defeated Toledo yet again to keep our winning streak against the Rockets alive.
- We only saw 11 goals conceded this season more than halving that conceded last season.
- We had a decisive win 5-0 against Butler at home.
- We completed 3 comeback victories, which truly showed the grit and desire we had this season.
- We were ranked 14th in the region.
- 7-3 record, tying our best ever record.
We would like to thank our coaches Ryan James and Jack Bennett for their time and dedication amidst their busy schedules. They really helped us improve our culture and adopt a more competitive mindset.
We would also like to thank our senior players for their efforts in improving the team over the last four years, we have seen tremendous growth as a result."
Men's Club Soccer has done very well this year and the momentum for the spring will bring many fruits from their labor.
