The BGSU women's rugby team concluded its 15's season with a devastating loss in the regional finals down in Columbus. On the weekend of November 15, the Lady Falcons traveled to Columbus, OH, to compete at Fortress Obetz in the hope of gaining a National title. Though the women did fall short of a national title, the ruggers still were able to make it the furthest in team history. On the 15th, the Falcons were able to clinch a win against the Cincinnati Bearcats to play at 4:00 the next day. Emma Benschneider, Alyssa Schwan, and Sami Tripi all scored tries, and Taylor Westrick scored conversions for the team.
The women had a hard-fought loss on Sunday against Binghamton. At halftime, the teams were tied, but the Bearcats pulled ahead and won 55-34. The scorers were Jordyn Barr and Sami Tripi with three tries each and conversion kicks scored by Taylor Westrick. The Lady Falcons ended the regular season with an overall record of 6 wins and 2 losses. They now have some time to prepare for a promising 7s season in the Spring, in hopes of returning to 7s Nationals again at the end of April.
