Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green Men's Rugby team (5-2 Overall, 4-1 MAC) will play their final regular season home game on Saturday, October 25th at 2 pm.
"This is a very important game for our future. This match sets the tone for playoffs and as far as I'm aware this is our first playoff game," said Captain Jake Capel. " It's also important because we gotta show out for the future players visiting."
Last Time on the Field
Last weekend, the First Side received a second BYE week due to a match cancellation by University of Dayton. As a result the Falcons were awarded a 28-0 victory, giving them the bonus point to earn 5 points in the MAC table. While the First Side did not play, University of Dayton was generous enough to still host our Developmental 1 Side in a scrimmage. Our Developmental 1 side gave it their all and secured a 40-24 victory over the Flyers. As one of the oldest existing college rugby clubs in Ohio, our young team proved to be up for the task. Freshman Bradey Sexton led the team in tries, scoring his first hat trick as a Falcon. Center Lucas Hickernell, Prop Kosta Anderson, and Wing Andrew Ginder also pitched in with one try a piece. Hickernell also contributed by converting four of four attempts and Sexton scored one of two attempts.
