The Bowling Green State University Men's Club Soccer team has started their 2024-2025 season with 3 home games; facing Ball State University, Butler University and the University of Notre Dame.
Bowling Green's,
Asher Bridenstine, scored for the Falcons late in the first half against Ball State, with the game ultimately ending in a tie 1-1.
"The game against Ball State was one I was excited for as it was my first opportunity as a new member of the team to show what I can do and make an impact" said
Bridenstine "I was very happy to help the team by scoring in the first half. Although my celebration was nonchalant, I was excited to get my first goal since senior year of high school in the fashion I did, and I'm hoping to provide a few more throughout the season too! Overall, I felt like we controlled the game and should have put a couple more chances away, but in the end, the missed chances came back to get us when they tied it up with little time remaining. I feel that with more practice together and all the talent we have, we will make a real run towards regionals!"
Following the Ball State game, the Falcons took on Butler University and the University of Notre Dame this past weekend. Bowling Green was able to beat Butler 5-1 with goals from
Michael Lindh (2),
Ayden Behrendson,
Dorian Duerson, and
Jinhwa Do. Assists were from
Michael Lindh,
Owen Sharick,
Dorian Duerson,
Griffin Weaver, and
Justice Avornu.
Unfortunately, BGSU fell to the Irish on Sunday 1-0.
The Falcons were also scheduled to play Valparaiso University on September 8, but Valparaiso dropped out of the league resulting in an automatic 5-0 win for the Falcons.
