Marissa Bobo (number 5, junior)
Marissa has been an active member of the club team for five semesters. After playing in high school, she was determined to continue her volleyball career in college. Starting out as a freshman, Marissa felt nervous about not knowing anyone at BGSU. However, she quickly found her place, saying, "All of the girls were super friendly, which led to my love for this club and the people in it to grow quickly."
Currently serving as the team secretary, Marissa plans to remain on the executive board until she graduates, further contributing to her spot on the team.
One of Marissa's favorite memories so far has been traveling to Kansas City for the 2024 Club Volleyball Nationals. This experience allowed her to reconnect with friends from high school and network with teams from across the United States.Â
"We had so many team bonding experiences on and off the court that I will cherish forever," she shared.
Grace Brandt (number 13, junior)
Grace has been a member of the club team since starting out her freshman year at BGSU. She has cherished watching the team evolve into a close-knit family, and she believes her undergraduate experience would not be complete without club volleyball.
Grace is grateful for the strong relationships she has formed with her teammates and fondly shares some of her favorite moments from her time on the team so far. "Some of my favorite memories are when both our white and orange team made it to the championship and were able to share the championship title together," she reflects. "Beating our Toledo rivals will never get old either!"
She has loved cheering on her teammates during matches and looks forward to supporting them in their lives beyond volleyball.
"I am so excited to see what this club will hold even after I graduate; the girls never fail to amaze me," Grace adds.Â
