This past weekend, both the BG White and BG Orange volleyball teams traveled to Eastern Michigan University to compete in a competitive 16-team tournament. The White team emerged with another victory, sweeping through the day undefeated and bringing home the championship! Meanwhile, the Orange team secured 3rd place after losing just one game the entire tournament.
Both teams dominated in their respective pools and finished first. The pool play was determined by point differential, with BG White finishing with an impressive +92, and BG Orange following closely behind with +91. This outstanding performance landed them in the top two spots going into bracket play.
In the semifinals, the White team faced a challenging moment when outside hitter
Grace Brandt suffered an ankle injury, forcing her to leave the game. Stepping up in her place, back row player
Madeline Applegate was thrown into an all-around position to help her team push forward. Applegate's resilience stepping up helped the team make it to the championship game against Central Michigan's top team.
The final game was exciting and extended to three matches. Despite the tough competition, Bowling Green's White team clenched another victory, finishing the season on a high note with an impressive season record.
Congratulations to both BG White and BG Orange for their successful season!
