Battle at the Dawg Pound
BGSU Men's Club Basketball traveled to Big Rapids, Michigan to continue their season vs some very competent competition on October 26th and 27th. Men's Basketball earned hard fought wins vs. the University of Michigan-Flint, 93-72, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 71-69. Also, they competed in hard fought losses vs. the University of Wisconsin, 97-89, and Ferris State University, 49-56.
When asked about their performance, Carter Smith, Freshman PF/C offered this insight. "The Ferris State tournament was full of talent across the board. Wisconsin may have been one of the best teams we've played all year. We had a very good game in the first round of the tournament where we won in double OT. I'm looking forward to this weekend as we get to play the other bowling Green team. Should be a good matchup and very exciting as we scrimmage them every practice."Â
Â
"I think our entire team highlighted throughout the tournament, everyone pitched in and helped us come close to winning each game no matter the outcome. Bryce and Grant scored well for us, so did Ryan and I. Having 2 scoring options from inside and outside the arc helps and makes us deadlier than what people may think. The competition was tough, some of the best comp I have played so far this season. I think we will play well this weekend. I'm looking forward to a couple of our matchups and looking to win the tournament on our home floor," Freshman PGÂ Ty Lowry shares.Â
