The men's volleyball team is off to a powerful start this fall season, with impressive performances setting them up for a promising year.
RPAC Invitational (Sept. 28-29)
The season kicked off with a competitive tournament at The Ohio State University, where the team competed in seven high-energy games across two days. Finishing 4-3 overall, they took second place in the Silver Bracket.Â
On Saturday, Sept. 28, the team had an exciting victory over Xavier University, falling short to formidable opponents, Indiana University, and Syracuse University.Â
On Sunday, however, the team turned their play around. Fighting hard in match ups against Loyola University Chicago, Ohio University, and the University of Cincinnati, securing wins across the board. A hard-fought battle against the University of Tennessee capped off their day. The team's performance showed significant progress since last season with such strong opening tournament play.Â
Ohio University Tournament (Oct. 12)Â
The team traveled to Ohio University on October 12, where they put on an impressive display of teamwork, finishing the tournament with an outstanding 5-1 record and securing second place in the Gold Bracket.Â
The team spent their day battling tough opponents including Ohio University, the University of Toledo, Wright State University, and the Ohio University Alumni team. They showed up big, winning 10 of the 14 sets they played throughout the day.Â
University of Dayton Tournament (Oct. 19)Â
The team entered the University of Dayton tournament on October 19, where they finished with a 2-2 record. Despite facing tough competition- including University of Michigan, Miami University, the University of Dayton, and the University of Cincinnati- the team held their own.Â
After a hard-fought series, the team was knocked out of the quarterfinals of the Gold Bracket but left with their heads held high.Â
Up Next: Michigan State Tournament (Nov. 9-10)Â
Looking ahead, the team will travel to Michigan State (Nov. 9-10) for a two-day tournament. After putting in a strong week of practice, the team is prepared and ready to continue their momentum.Â
