Meet Autumn Lehner’s Passions: Geology and Hockey

Autumn LehnerAutumn Lehner traveled 1,278.8 miles from home in Colorado Springs to attend Bowling Green State University. After touring the campus in high school, there was an instant connection. Autumn stated, "I fell in love with the campus. Almost every student I saw was wearing spirit wear, which says a lot about how much the students love the school. BG also has a great program for my major, which is hard to find at other universities."

Autumn is majoring in Geology with a specialization in Paleobiology. Ever since she was a child, she's always found the natural world very interesting. So, it was easy for Autumn to know what major she wanted to study. Luckily, she found the prefect program at BGSU. After graduation, Autumn plans to further her education to obtain a Masters and Ph.D.

Geology and Paleobiology aren't Autumn's only passions. In fact, Autumn has been playing hockey since she was 6 years old and was coached by her father until 11 years old. She played for the Colorado Springs Tigers Women's U19 AA and played two years of varsity hockey in high school. Autumn LehnerTo continue her passions on campus, Autumn joined the Women's Club Hockey team in the first year they were rebooting, to continue playing her favorite sport. "I wanted to be a part of the program that would help give other women like me an opportunity to play during their college careers," declared Autumn.

Next year, Autumn is excited to finally have her first regular season of hockey in college. Autumn explained, "COVID took a lot of opportunities away from us this past year, so it's exciting to finally be able to have a real season for the first time."
