Financial Aid

Financial Aid

Overview

At Bowling Green State University, we recognize financial aid can be challenging. BGSU is committed to providing access to financial aid information that allows consumers such as students, parents, counselors, researchers, and legislators to make informed decisions. The staff in these areas partner with Club Sports regularly to help guide prospective students toward available resources.

Scholarships

BGSU offers a variety of scholarship opportunities. More than $30 million in scholarships are awarded annually. Scholarship awards are based on a variety of criteria including merit, demonstrated financial need, field of study, participation in a specific program, organization or activity, or any combination of these items. Student eligibility for BGSU scholarships is tied to the campus in which they are enrolled.

Student Support Services

SSS is funded by a nearly $3 million grant to aid with students retention. Students who participate in clubs are eligible for assistance from Student Support Services if any of the below criteria are met:
  • You are a first-generation college student (custodial parents did not complete a bachelor’s degree)
  • Your family income fits the requirements determined by the Federal Income Guidelines
  • You have a documented disability and have registered with the BGSU Accessibility Services office.
