BGSU Developmental 1s get the Job Done Down Under in Dayton

Falcons Win Final MAC Regular Season Away Game!

Dayton, Ohio – Bowling Green (5-2 Overall, 4-1 MAC) did not play this weekend due to a match cancellation. However, the Developmental 1 side still played and represented the club well with a 40-24 victory over University of Dayton.

"This was a knock off the dust game for me because I am coming back from a shoulder injury. I feel like the young bucks showed a lot of potential against a physical Dayton side. We made some errors across the board but we made them at 100%," said Club President, Kosta Anderson.

While the books record a 28-0 victory for BGSU due to a match cancellation by Dayton, the Developmental 1 side still took on the University of Dayton. They gave it their all and secured a 40-24 victory over the Flyers. As one of the oldest existing college rugby clubs in Ohio, our young team proved to be up for the task. Freshman Bradey Sexton led the team in tries, scoring his first hat trick as a Falcon. Center Lucas Hickernell, Prop Kosta Anderson, and Wing Andrew Ginder also pitched in with one try a piece. Hickernell also contributed by converting four of four attempts and Sexton scored one of two attempts.

"11 of those who played on Saturday have played on the 1st side. The rest were guys who have not, however they are knocking at the door. We used this weekend as an opportunity to see our depth and I was proud of the result," said Club President Kosta Anderson. "The shirt has a bright future in front of it with the development of this young team. It was a strong showing from the young guys with the postseason knocking on the door."
