Powerlifter James Peugeot Competes in APF Tons for Tots Meet

Earlier this month, powerlifter James Peugeot traveled to Royal Oak, Michigan, to participate in the APF Tons for Tots powerlifting meet. Held on November 2, James competed in a full power meet, which included the squat, bench press, and deadlift events. His primary focus for this competition was to achieve a high enough total to qualify for the APF Nationals while also preserving his peak performance for the Ohio State Championships, which took place this past weekend.

James finished in the meet with a total of 1,311 pounds, consisting of a 501-pound squat, a 303-pound bench press, and a 507-pound deadlift. His performance earned him first place in the 110 kg Junior Division. Notably, James opted to compete in only his first two attempts in each of the three events, prioritizing his safety and ensuring he wouldn't risk injury ahead of the Ohio State meet that took place on November 23.

Confident in his training and performance in the Tons for Tots meet, James felt strong and utilized this meet as a warm-up for the state championship. Looking back, James is pleased with his progress and preparation that has lead him to this point.

Congratulations James!
