No. 5 Bowling Green Faces No. 4 Louisville in the MAC Matchup

Falcons look to stake their claim for the No. 1 spot in the MAC against Louisville.

Falcons fight off the Cardinals during last seasons match.
Louisville, Kentucky - The Bowling Green Men's Rugby Team (5-1, 3-0 MAC) will play their second conference away game against the MAC No. 3 Seed on Saturday, October 19th against Louisville (4-1, 3-0 MAC). The Falcon's will look to continue their form from the victory over Maryland with their last match being a forfeit win over Dayton. The match will kickoff at 2 pm at Hayes Kennedy Park, Louisville, KY.

"The big tst of the year and we're hopefully as ready as we can be going down there to a really hostile environment," said Head Coach Tony Mazzarella. " We're going to have to be the best mentally capable team that we've probably been in the last three years, so we are going to have to be ready. Hopefully that's what we are able to do."

The last time the Falcons faced the Cardinals was in the 47-17 2023 MAC Final loss. The Falcon's will need to be at their mental best this weekend in order to prevail over their toughest competition this season. The Falcon's will need to come ready from kickoff after not playing for two weekends due to Dayton forfeiting the match last Saturday.

"This is a passionate game for us, we've seen it at practice every day. Coming out of a forfeit where we didn't get to play a game. The boys are itching to get back on the field," said Captain Joey Apel. "I think that with the mentality we have going into this game, we are ready for anything."

Last Time on the Field
Last weekend, the Falcons match against Dayton was canceled. As a result the Falcons received a 28-0 forfeit victory and the max 5 points for the MAC table. This victory extended the Falcons to a 11 game win streak in the MAC Conference which started in Fall 2020 with a 91-0 away win over Pitt.
