The BGSU Men's Rugby teams swept another doubleheader last weekend, defeating the University of Dayton 64-8 and 46-7.
Eight Man Phil Tracey continued his torrid scoring pace picking up another pair of tries, as did center Nico LaBianca and fullback Beau Abbott.
Scoring solo tries were wings Owen Slimmer and Griffin Black, center Gary Brammer and lock James Demetropolis . Center Joey Apel converted seven of his ten conversion kicks to chip in fourteen points.
Scoring in the second match was spread across the squad with prop Luke Clinton, hooker Nate Medved, center Colton Crabiel, lock Xavier Everett, wing Dylan Boothe, wing Dat Vu getting solo tries. Center Paolo Sferrella scored two tries. Center Gary Brammer, scrum half James Hayes and Sferrella all chipped in conversion kicks.
This Saturday, September 23, the Falcon ruggers will host Western Michigan University at Roger Mazzarella Rugby Field at 1 p.m.
The Broncos have been nipping at the Falcons heels, having played – but lost every time to the Falcons in the Mid American Conference championship game in 1994, 1995, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021.
