Like scythe cutting wheat, the BGSU Men's Rugby team mowed down two opponents in three matches last Saturday, outscoring its opposition 249 to 15. The Falcon ruggers defeated Ohio University by scores of 69-3 and 101-5 and fielded a squad of mostly freshmen to beat Tiffin University 79-7. The Ohio University matches continued a string of 34 straight victories over the Bobcats extending back to 2005.
Bowling Green, who has won the Mid American Championship 40 straight times approached the Bobcat rugger intending to rely on their forwards as the backline, which features three freshmen, continues to jell. Last week the forwards scored ten of eleven total tries against West Virginia. This week it was more of the same as the Falcon forwards collected nine of BG's eleven tries.Â
