As we prepare for the coming days of the holiday season, BGSU Club Sports wanted to highlight some of our outstanding athletes/staff across all of our programs. In this series, we hope to showcase the complete picture of Club Sports Athletes, as well as connecting on some holiday traditions they like to enjoy. 

ATHLETE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Our next nomination is Fitzpatrick Metzger, a member of the Men's Club Rugby team. Fitzpatrick was nominated by Club Founder, Roger Mazzarella, who had this to say on his accomplishments and abilities. 

"Fitz has been the "16th" man for the men's rugby team for the past two years. It has been a career of patience, commitment and dedication. But his accomplishments off the field may have eclipsed those on the field. Fitz took over the entire Public Relations functions of men's rugby and elevated what is often described as a jewel of the University into a more prominent and visible position. His weekly post game and pre-game dispatches, dissemination of photos and weekly statistics have put BGSU Men's rugby PR on par with any college athletic department. His behind the scenes work has been equally, if not more, important as he has been collecting, organizing and digitizing the 56 year history of men's rugby scores, scorers and statistics."

HOLIDAY TRADITIONS

When asked on the following Holiday prompts, Fitzpatrick Metzger answered with these solutions: 

• Favorite Holiday Movie: Nightmare before Christmas
• Favorite Holiday Food: Gingerbread
• Favorite Holiday Memory: The gift wrapping frenzy that precedes Christmas Eve.
