The Midwest region is the biggest region within the National Collegiate Water Ski Association consisting of 32 teams comprised from 13 states and over 300 water skiers.

On Friday night, all the teams got to hang out, meet new members and network with other skiers from our region.

On Saturday morning, the captains from each team gathered in a conference room to discuss new bylaw changes, upcoming events, hold elections for a new board, and hear committee reports from the past year. This is one of two regional meetings that are held, with the other meeting being at our Regional Tournament in October.

After the captains meeting adjourned, everybody went into breakout rooms with different pro skiers to learn more about the 3 events in collegiate waterskiing: slalom, trick and jump. The pro skiers featured at this year's event were Cale Burdick, Cole Kalkbrenner, Alex Clark and Emily Dammeyer. After the breakout rooms, each team member chose an "off the water" session to attend which included topics such as captain's roundtable, how to coach your teammates, and pro tips for becoming an official.

Saturday night our team got dressed up in black and orange to attend the banquet. At the banquet, several awards are handed out such as top skiers, most improved team, rookie of the year, and most supportive alumni. In addition, the skiers that will be on the All-stars team were announced and they will compete on the Midwest team in May.

Our team looks forward to attending this conference every year and is definitely one of the highlights of our season. In addition, it is a way for us to wrap up the season and get ready for the spring tournaments.
